Hydrology Mechanism of Qanat

This chapter provides a technical definition of qanat and then examines the hydrology of qanat. Groundwater exists in different forms according to which qanat appears in different types. In this chapter we try to come up with a new classification covering almost all possible types of qanat according to different criteria. This chapter also goes over the general mechanism of qanat, and definitions of shaft wells, mother well, water production section, water transport section and qanat exit.
